BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve an amendment to resolution RES-2023-76 which is an ARPA funded project for jail re-wiring. This would increase the purchase order number 23-04229 by $38,098.00
BACKGROUND:
This an overhaul of the data wiring for the jail. Some unexpected hindrances and expenses were discovered during the installation phase of the project. The original amount was $ 268,617.00. The contract was awarded to Newkirk Electric which was the winning bidder of Genesee County's RFP process.
DISCUSSION:
There has been an agreement with the vendor "Newkirk" and Genesee County Legal Counsel, Purchasing and IT Project Management.

This is request of an additional $ 38,098 for purchase order number 23-04229 utilizing ARPA account number 1010-640.02-899.000.

CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
Long Term Legacy Costs are addressed in the project. The original wiring that is being replaced is the source of consistent problems and loss of productivity as well as creating a safety hazard.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
