BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
I am requesting approval of the Professional Services Contract between the Office of Genesee County Sheriff and the Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools. This contract will add one School Resource Officer assigned to the Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools.
BACKGROUND:
This contract with the Genesee County Sheriff's Office will provide a School Resource Officer for the remainder of the school year. This contract will provide one Genesee County Sheriff's Deputy, who is a Certified Police Officer, to act as the Resource Officer to Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools. The cost of such services is estimated to be and intended not to exceed $49,907.00 for the period of March 1, 2024, through June 30, 2024, with the option to extend the contract for up to three additional one-year school terms. (See Exhibit A attached.) These funds will be deposited in the Account # 2855-308.14-674.029

IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
Creation of a Police Deputy position and hiring the appropriate back fill positions.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no impact on the General Fund this position is fully paid for by the Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools. The budget amendment is attached.

CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
