BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval to accept the Expanding and Enhancing Telehealth Grant No-Cost Extension that was awarded.
BACKGROUND:
The Family Planning program received funding in FY23 to implement a Telehealth project. The funding provided to implement the work plans of this project was to be spent by May 23, 2023. We are being offered a no-cost extension of the FY23 funds to be used in FY24.
DISCUSSION:
Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) Family Planning requested a no-cost extension (NCE) of the one-time telehealth award that was set to end May 2023. On June 8, 2023, MDHHS Family Planning received notification that the request for the NCE was granted. Agencies utilizing this funding received a 12-month extension to fully implement work plans that were previously approved. Our Family Planning program now has until May 23, 2024, to complete the telehealth project.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
No impact on Human Resources.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
FY23 funding carried over to FY24 within Telehealth (2210-611.02) budget. The budget amendment is included in a separate request.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
No impact on facilities.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
No impact on technology.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
The funding in this no cost extension supports the expansion and sustainability of telehealth within the program which will expand access to family planning services in the community.
