BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve the purchase of Crowdstrike Cybersecurity platform not to exceed the cost of $95,272.62 for the period of February 15th, 2024 through February 14th, 2025.
BACKGROUND:
Genesee County Information Technology is looking to replace the existing EDR (anti-virus and firewall) solution used across all county computers and servers with CrowdStrike XDR. This enhancement will replace the current EDR subscription ($33,000 annually), an identity audit service ($12,000 annually) while providing additional security functionality and services.
Additional Services Include:
MFA for account elevation (required for Cyber Insurance)
MFA for remote access accounts
Better telemetry on computer and network activity
AI driven security analysis and recommendations
Automated Vulnerability and Security Assessments

Quoted amount included within IT security budget. Expense will be applied to 1010-228.01-933.001
For FYE 24, $59,610.46 will be charged to account 1010-228.01-933.001 and $35,662.16 will be charged to 1010-000.00-123.000 Prepaid expenses
For FYE 25, the $35,662.16 will be moved from 1010-000.00-123.000 Prepaid expenses to 1010-228.01-933.001.
