BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorization to accept a grant from Region 3 state Homeland Security Program for the purchase of 2 Hummingbird Apex 19 side scan sonar. The cost shall not exceed $16,210.00. from account 2830-426.00-752.000 This grant fully covers the cost of this purchase.
BACKGROUND:
This grant will allow the Genesee County Sheriff's Office to purchase 2 Hummingbird Apex side scan sonars with transducer and mounting kits at no cost to the county. The equipment will be used by the Dive team and Marine Division to locate individuals and property underwater in Genesee County lakes and rivers.
