BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) requests authorization from this committee to accept the grant award from the United Way of Genesee County in the amount of $30,000.00, with a recommendation of approval by the full Genesee County Board of Commissioners at their next regularly scheduled meeting.
BACKGROUND:
GCCARD received notification of a $30,000.00 grant award from the United Way for the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program Phase 41 for the fiscal year of October 1, 2022, through December 31, 2024. This program's National Board, chaired by FEMA with representatives from private sector agencies such as the United Way, was established by Congress in 1983 as a collaborative effort between the private and public sectors to meet the needs of hungry and homeless people throughout the United States.
DISCUSSION:
GCCARD has been approved for $15,000.00 for Shelter, Rent, and Mortgage assistance and $15,000.00 for utility assistance for qualified Genesee County residents.

No impact on Human Resources.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
$30,000.00 will be added to fund #2739-696.41-504.000
