BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of a request to update the 2024 Committee meeting schedule.
BACKGROUND:
Last year, the Board approved moving their regular meetings to evenings to make them more accessible to the public. While the regular board meetings were moved, committee meetings remained in the morning during regular working hours.
DISCUSSION:
Since the board meetings were moved, there has been discussion about moving committee meetings to the evening too. The attached schedule moves committee meetings to 5:30 PM beginning in July.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
There is no impact to HR.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Any impact to the budget will be minimal.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
The Board Office will work with Facilities to ensure that the building is open and accessible to the public for any scheduled meeting.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
No impact on technology.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
The Board of County Commissioners has prioritized an Inclusive and Collaborative Culture within county government. By making the meetings more accessible, this will aid in making county government more transparent to the public.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan (this "Board"), that the attached schedule is adopted as the revised schedule of regular meetings of this Board, and of regular meetings of the standing Committees of this Board, for the remainder of calendar year 2024 and subsequent to this Board's meeting on July 17, 2024, and that the referenced meetings shall be held at the place and times indicated in that schedule.
