BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Request for approval to utilize the designated Equipment Computer account 1010-228.01-978.006 for a refresh order of 50 laptops and 50 docks, per Quote #3000177035595.1 in the amount of $61,500.00.
BACKGROUND:
Dell is a member of the MHEC-04152022 Master Agreement between Midwestern Higher Education Commission and Dell Marketing; Effective 4/15/22-6/30/25 as indicated on the quote (
Also as per referenced on all of our quotes; is the Contract Code: C000000979569 () Genesee County is given a significant discount in our bulk purchases due to government and our long-standing partnership with them.
DISCUSSION:
Updated models as provided and quoted by vendor Dell; (Latitude 3550) as our existing models previously purchased (Latitude 3540) will be end-of-life soon and no longer available. New specs also include 32GB RAM as procured by IT's End-User Computing Manager to be proactive in anticipation of the County needing to upgrade to Windows 11 due to Windows 10 phasing out soon. The additional RAM will both support the Windows upgrade while maintaining performance and productivity as needed for the employees. Currently issued models are standardized with 16GB RAM
