RE: Ally Challenge Accommodation Tax request

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of a grant award to the Ally Challenge, in the amount of $50,000.00, from Genesee County's Accommodation Tax Fund.
BACKGROUND:
The Board of County Commissioners have previously funded the Ally Challenge using Accommodation Tax Funding.
DISCUSSION:
The Board of County Commissioners are committed to offering programming that will attract visitors to our area and stay in our local hotels. The Ally Challenge is a significant driver in those efforts. As shown in the attached report, The Ally Challenge is requesting funding for programming that will offer opportunities to remain in our area overnight.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
There will be no impact to Human Resources with this request.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is sufficient funding available for this request within the Accommodation Tax Fund in account 2180-729.00-899.000.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
There will be no impact on Facilities with this request.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
There will be no impact on Technology with this request.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
The Board of County Commissioner have prioritized Community Growth. This request will aid in fulfilling that priority by creating a sense of place that attracts visitors to our area.
