BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Genesee County Parks and Recreation staff requests the approval to accept a grant from the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, in the amount of $300,000.00, for the State Park in Downtown Flint Endowment Fund.
BACKGROUND:
The Community Foundation of Greater Flint has established an endowment fund for the State Park in Flint and Genesee County.
DISCUSSION:
Funds will support the maintenance and operations of the State Park.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Parks & Recreation Director to authorize accepting a grant from, and entering into a grant agreement with, the Community Foundation of Greater Flint in the amount of $300,000.00 to an endowment fund for the support of operations and maintenance of the State Park in Downtown Flint, said funding to be deposited into account 2080-770.34-674.029, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and support documents being on file with the official records of the July 17, 2024 meeting of the Public Works Committee of this Board), the Chief Financial Officer is directed to record the attached budget, and the Chairperson of this Board is authorized to execute the grant agreement on behalf of Genesee County.
