RE: Parks Request to Accept Grant - For-Mar Nature Day Camp

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Genesee County Parks and Recreation staff requests the approval to accept a grant from the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, in the amount of $11,952.00, for the For-Mar Nature Day Camp program.
BACKGROUND:
The For-Mar Nature Day Camp is a licensed day camp with the State of Michigan. The 2024 Day Camp has six weeks of camp for grades Pre-K to 8th, between July 8 and August 16. A major goal for the Day Camp is to provide scholarship funding for low-income residents to participate at low to no cost.
DISCUSSION:
Grant funds will be used for the purchase of an AED unit for the building and will fund a minimum of 36 campers to attend Camp at low to no cost.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
