BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of an increased grant award for the State Court Administrative Office (SCAO) Michigan Drug Court Grant Program (MDCGP) in the amount of $9,000.
BACKGROUND:
Genesee County approved and accepted the original MDCGP grant of $165,000 for FY2024 through resolution 2023-800. The MDCGP grant helps support the operation of Genesee County Sobriety Court (GCSC).
DISCUSSION:
67th District Court is requesting approval to accept an additional grant amount from the SCAO MDCGP grant increasing the grant award for FY2024 from $165,000 to $174,000. The additional funds will be used for drug testing and incentives for GCSC participants, as well as supplies.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
None
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no impact on the general fund. Grant funds will increase account 2927-286 by $9,000 and will be expended on services that will support the operation of Genesee County Sobriety Court.

CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
The MDCGP grant funds advance the priority of safe communities by enhancing public safety by providing the tools, resources, and support necessary for alcohol-dependent offenders to attain and maintain sobriety.
