RE: Genesee County Jail Water Heater Replacement

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve contract with William E. Walter Inc. for the replacement of the Jail water heaters.
BACKGROUND:
THA Architects Engineers provided professional engineering services for the assessment of the current needs and design of a new hot water system at the Jail. Based on their recommendations Purchasing put out to bid (24-391). An evaluation team rated each response and the scoring indicated William E. Walter Inc. as having the highest rating, they were also the lowest bid and a local company.
DISCUSSION:
Signing this contract will allow for the vendor to proceed forward with this project.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
None.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
4018-255.06-975.001= $1,024,000.00 with a contingency of up to 10% for change orders. A budget amendment is attached.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
Facilities will be the contract administrator for this process.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
None.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
This will help facilities to provide a healthy, livable, & safe community by making sure we are able to keep our facilities running efficiently, providing safe working areas for employees and the public.
