RE: Genesee County Courthouse Legal Resource Center & Legal Records Division Remodel

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve a contract with Sorensen Gross Company LLC for this project in the amount of $980,000.00(this would include addendum 1).
BACKGROUND:
RFP 24-378 was developed and published for bids by the Genesee County Purchasing Department. Multiple responses were received and reviewed. Sorenson Gross Company LLC submitted the low bid.
DISCUSSION:
The Genesee County Legal Resource Center and Legal Records Division remodel has been identified by the Court as a priority project. The development and design was completed with the selection of a contractor as the next step.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
None
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
4960-255.06-975.007= $980,000.00 Courts Capital Fund with a contingency of up to 8% for change orders.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
None. This project takes existing square footage in the Courthouse and re-defines service delivery in the space
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
None. Informational kiosks to be located in the Legal Resource Center have been financially supported by grants, with involvement by Court and County IT Departments. There should be no adverse impact on any other technology located in the Courthouse, only improvements
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
The Legal Resource Center and Legal Records Division remodel project will help the Court with communicating available resources and services to residents and will continue to help promote a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
