RE: Approval of three (3) amendments to the Sentinel Inc. contract to purchase shields for security cameras at the jail, fish-eye cameras for the exterior and multiple view monitoring stations at the Genesee County Jail, Circuit Court, and District Court

recommendation
BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of three (3) amendments to the Sentinel Inc. contract to purchase shields for security cameras at the jail, fish-eye cameras for the exterior and multiple view monitoring stations at the Genesee County Jail, Circuit Court, and District Court
BACKGROUND:
This is an emergency request for work that is in progress. Resolution 2024-302 was passed in and installation has begun with the jail being the first location. This project establishes a single standard for electronic door access and video monitoring for all Genesee County. Some circumstances and features of the new system were not discovered until recently.
DISCUSSION:
Three attachments are included:
CO_309: $0.00 Security enclosures for vulnerable areas in the jail.
CO_355: $29,820.00 10 Viewing stations and licenses
CO_287: $1,757.64 Replacement of regular cameras with fish-eye lens cameras for exterior of jail.

The cameras intended for these areas will not fit into the existing protective enclosures. These will accommodate the new cameras.
Monitoring stations view many cameras at one time. This upgrade allows for this high-density viewing. The stations are at the jail (4 stations), McCree (3 stations) and Circuit (3 stations).
A fish-eye lens allows for a wider range of viewing for the 3 outdoor locations at the jail.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
None
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
ARPA funds will be used for the hardware and installation portion of this purchase at a total cost of $5,076.64 to be paid from account 1010-640.02-899.040 and the 10 year licensing costs for the jail at a total cost o...
