BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize and approve a purchase order request in the amount of $45,000.00 for the FY24/25, to provide required vaccine supplies to meet the need of Genesee County's stray population.
BACKGROUND:
Genesee County Animal Control serves the stray population of animals in Genesee County. To limit infectious carried deceases, Animal Control vaccinates each incoming stray animal with preventative vaccines. This assists in the overall health and welfare of the County's increased stray population. Zoetis is the existing vendor that supplies these needs to meet the preventative care required. Animal Control also provides shot clinics to aid the community in obtaining low costs vaccines to assist in the fight for better health of our county's animal welfare. Zoetis provides shelter pricing which decreases our costs.
