BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve the Federal Awards Administration Policy
BACKGROUND:
The County has had some procedures documented for administering federal awards. However, there has never been a formal policy adopted by the BOC.
DISCUSSION:
Grant monitoring agencies have started to ask for a copy of our formal policy as approved by the BOC. We have compiled a policy that addresses the compliance requirements that will be tested during grant monitoring and annual audits.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
There is no additional impact on Human Resources with this policy.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no additional impact on the budget with this policy.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
There is no additional impact on the facilities with this policy.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
There is no additional impact or requirement for technology with this policy.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
This policy will serve as a guide to ensure we are in compliance with the requirements of federal grants which will reduce the possibility of questioned or disallowed costs which aligns with the Long Term Financial Stability priority that has been adopted by the Board of Commissioners.
