recommendation
BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) requests authorization to accept the Health and Human Services Grant Award (05CH012299-02-01) that approves consolidating Early Head Start Expansion funding from grant 05HP000485 in the amount of $17,204,213 ($13,884,398 federal, plus $3,319,815 non-federal) to continue the operation of the Genesee County Head Start and Early Head Start Programs from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 from this committee and recommendation of approval by the full Board of Commissioners at their next regularly scheduled meeting.

The prorated costs based on the application submitted under 05HP000485 are $2,002,970 for EHS operations and $47,963 for EHS Training and Technical Assistance for the period of 9/1/2024 - 6/30/2025 combining 104 children to the already existing 322 for a total of 426 infants, toddlers and pregnant women. This award also covers the 2.35% COLA increase and increases the non-federal share requirement by $361,449. This award also shortens the project period from 6/30/2028 to 8/31/2026 to prevent any component of the consolidated award from exceeding the five-year limit on a grant project peri...
