BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The approval of the contract for services with Abonmarche Byce accepting their bid response to ITB 24-388 Architectural & Engineering Services for Jail Security Screening to awarded to Abonmarche Byce.
BACKGROUND:
Abonmarche Byce is being selected from the 5 bids responding to ITB 24-388 for Architectural & Engineering Services for Jail Screening in the Genesee County Jail. This screening is an emergency due to the increased mental health concerns in the County. Abonmarche Byce was not the lowest bid received but based on their experience working in correctional institutions, is being recommended.
DISCUSSION:
Jail security screening will provide a higher level of protection to inmates facing a mental health crisis.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
None.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
2642-351.01-978.000= $42,500.00
No general funds will be used for this project
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
Facilities and Operations will be the contract administrator and will facilitate with the engineers during the project and approve modifications to building.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
None.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
This will help with promoting public health and creating safer and healthier residents as well as helping keep Genesee County employees safe on the job.
