BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Human Resources requests approval to send two (2) employees to the Pareto Captive Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs, CO from May 6, 2025, through May 9, 2025.
BACKGROUND:
The Pareto Captive, Genesee County's Stop Loss Carrier, is holding their annual member conference in Colorado Springs, CO from May 7 - 9, 2025, to provide cost containment strategies for its members.
DISCUSSION:
HR would like to send two (2) employees to the Pareto Captive annual conference. Expenses include the cost of travel, meals, and overnight lodging. To encourage attendance, Pareto Captive offers a 1% discount on renewal rates for members that attend the meeting. Genesee County's consultants estimate that this savings could be a discount of approximately $15,000. The cost for the employees would not exceed $3,600.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
No additional impact.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
The total cost for registration and attendance for this conference is not expected to exceed $3,600. An appropriation to account 1010-270.00-910.005, is attached to cover the cost.

No additional impact.

Attending these meetings further helps to create Long Term Financial Stability by learning about new resources to provide cost containment strategies to Genesee County.
