BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) requests authorization from this committee to approve a purchase order to Oliver Packaging for budgeted food and kitchen supplies, with a recommendation of approval by the full Genesee County Board of Commissioners at their next regularly scheduled meeting.
BACKGROUND:
Meals provided to Genesee County seniors & school-age children are delivered in single-use trays, both paper and plastic. There are no other packaging trays available to GCCARD that can accommodate the automated packing system. Oliver is the only provider of the machine, film, and packaging trays utilized by GCCARD. Nutrition Services has been using this vendor for 25+ years. These are budgeted expenses in GCCARD’s approved FY2023-2024 budget.
DISCUSSION:
This purchase order runs from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024, and is to be utilized by GCCARD’s Nutrition Services program. The expenses listed in this memorandum are available as per GCCARD’s approved Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-2024 budget.

Funds for this purchase order will be available in the following fund accounts: 2731-697.14-765.000 for $3,000; 2731-697.15-765.000 for $11,000; 2731-697.03-801.000 for $55,000; 2733-697.15-765.000 for $75,000; 2736-697.25-801.002 for $4,000; 2736-697.28-765.000 for $4,000. No General Fund dollars are being requested.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Interim Director of the Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) to authorize a Purchase Order in the total amount not to exceed $152,000.00 to Oliver Packaging, to enable GCCARD to purchase kitchen supplies to serve the Genesee County Seniors & school-age children, to be paid from accounts as follows: 2731-697.14-765.000 for $3,000.00; 2731-697.15-765.000 for $11,000.00; 2731-697.03-801.000 for $55,000.00; 2733-697.15-765.000 for $75,000.00; 2736-697.25-801.002 for $4,000.00; and 2736-697.28-765.000 for $4,000.00 is approved (a copy of the memorandum request being on file with the official records of November 08, 2023, meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board).
