BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Request to add an additional $35,000.00 to line 1010-351.00-762.000 for the provision of paying Canteen Services food service and related invoices through the FYE 2026 (9/30/2026 invoices).
BACKGROUND:
Original increase and amendment as requested ($79,916.00) in RES-2026-0487 through FYE 2026 upon contract approval with Canteen Services was based upon an estimate of inmates in our custody at that time, but due to current numbers, has increased the costs.
DISCUSSION:
After review and discussion with Fiscal Services, an analysis has been done estimating we are going to be over about $35,000.00 based on current trends. Hence the additional request.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Office of Genesee County Sheriff to authorize appropriating an additional $35,000.00 to pay Canteen Services for jail inmate food services and related invoices through the FYE 2026 (9/30/2026 invoices), to be paid from account 1010-351.00-762.000, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the October 7, 2026 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board).
