Approve the second contract extension with Preferred Removal Services for body removal from death scenes.
BACKGROUND:
The original contract was for one-year with three one-year extensions. The contract commenced on July 1, 2024, and was effective through September 30, 2025. The contract was extended once from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Medical Examiner to authorize extending the contract between Genesee County and Preferred Removal Services, whereby the contractor will provide body removal services for the period commencing October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027, at a total cost not to exceed $180,000.00, to be paid from account 1010-648.00-801.006, with a blanket purchase order being issued at the beginning of the fiscal year, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the September 16, 2026 meeting of the Human Services Committee of this Board), and the Chairperson of this Board is authorized to execute the contract on behalf of Genesee County.
