Authorization to accept the Emergency Management Performance Grants American Rescue Plan Act grant from Michigan State Police. This grant covers 30% of the cost of the Emergency Manager.
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this grant agreement is to provide federal pass-through funds to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office for the development and maintenance of an emergency management program capable of protecting life, property, and vital infrastructure in times of disaster or emergency. This year our award is increased to 30.01247% of the cost of the Emergency Manager.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by Genesee County Sheriff’s Office to enter into an agreement with the Michigan State Police and accept the Emergency Management Performance Grants American Rescue Plan Act grant in the amount of $39,352.00 is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documentation being on file with the official records of the November 8, 2023 meeting of the Governmental Operations Committee of this Board) and the Chairperson of the Board and the Emergency Manager are both authorized to execute the grant documents on behalf of Genesee County.
