BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Prosecutor’s Office requests approval to add $2,500 from general funds to the Prosecutor’s Serving Papers line item (account 1010-296.01-812.000)
BACKGROUND:
The Prosecutor’s office has a Title IV-E contract with MDHHS to represent them in Child Abuse and Neglect cases. We have also agreed to have the documents served related to these cases through a process server and have a contract in place for that with Great Lakes Civil Services (RESO-2023-918).
DISCUSSION:
The budgeted amount for this line item was less for FY25-26 than it was in FY24-25. This budgeted line item is reimbursed through MDHHS for every expenditure we have for it. We are asking for an increase as we have used almost the entire original budgeted amount of $6,000 and have around $500 left on the budget line and still have 3 months left in the fiscal year.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to authorize adding an additional $2,500.00 from General Fund fund balance to the Prosecutor’s Serving Papers line item (account 1010-296.01-812.000) for the remainder of this fiscal year is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documentation being on file with the official records of the July 15, 2026 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board), and the Chief Financial Officer is directed to record the attached budget amendment.
