BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Request for expedited procurement to Otis Elevator Company for the repair of the Administration Building East elevator hoist motor in the amount of $44,600.00 to address concerns where threats to public health, welfare, or safety exist and to maintain ADA accessibility to various floors in the building.
BACKGROUND:
We have a condition where the hoist motor is obsolete and must be removed, shipped out to be rebuilt and then reinstalled.
DISCUSSION:
Because of the age of the equipment, there is no guarantee that the remaining west elevator will be able to stay in good working service, especially with additional use since the adjacent elevator is out of order. Moving forward with the repair ensures that we have some redundancy should one of the elevators have additional issues.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Facilities and Operations Director for an expedited procurement with Otis Elevator Company., in an amount of $44,600.00 to be paid from account 1010-265.00-978.000, for the purpose of repairing the east elevator in the Admin Building, is approved, and the Chairperson of this Board is authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of Genesee County.
