BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Fiscal Services is requesting the attached budget amendments to update the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026, budget
BACKGROUND:
Periodically throughout the fiscal year, amendments are needed to align budget as additional information is available to determine projected actual costs.
DISCUSSION:
These adjustments are needed to adjust revenue and expenditure accounts to reflect actual activity for the fiscal year.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
None.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
• Add Budget for DTR contribution to Clio Road Demolition Project.
• Amending Clerks budgets for microphone system purchase.
• Re-establish budget for Space Study approved in FY 2025 resolution (2025-1852).
• Re-establish budget for Mobile Health Unit approved in FY 2025 resolution (2025-2076).
• Re-establish budget for Jail Improvements approved in FY 2025 resolution (2025-1773).
• Amendments to carry over capital project budgets to the new fiscal year.
• Amendment for Health Department to accept the Kenley Farrel Memorial Grant.
• Amendment to Sheriff’s Elder Abuse VOCA/SVEA Grant to match reduced funding.
• Amendment to Planning budgets for various items including, matching budgets to current grant awards, the rollover of prior year awards, and the reclassification of expenses for weatherization and solid waste programs.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Chief Financial Officer to authorize multiple budget amendments to the FY26 budget, said amendments being fully described in the memorandum request, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the January 21, 2026 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board), and the Chief Financial Officer is directed to make the budget adjustments, as needed, to effectuate this resolution.
