BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Staff is recommending approval of the contract extension and fund transfer request from the City of Swartz Creek’s 2025 Infrastructure Improvements project to their 2025 Senior Center Operations project and requesting Genesee County Board Chairperson, Dale K. Weighill to sign the contract amendment.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Swartz Creek Council approved a request to move $621.00 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from their 2025 Infrastructure Improvements project to their 2025 Senior Center Operations project. The City funded the construction of an ADA accessible drop off ramp and entrance to the Pajtas Amphitheater in downtown Swartz Creek. These funds are being transferred because the City completed the project with funds remaining.
The funds will be transferred to the 2025 Senior Center Operations project which will assist with funding wages, classes, and other supplies related to the operation of the local senior center. The total budget for 2025 Senior Center Operations will be $4,140.00. The City has also requested a contract extension from September 30, 2026 to November 30, 2026.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Director of Planning to authorize amending the contract between Genesee County and the City of Swartz Creek, said amendment being necessary to transfer funding in the amount of $621.00 from their Infrastructure Improvements Project, account 2340-704.16-899.000, to their Senior Center Operations Project, account 2340-704.17-899.000, and to extend the time of performance through November 30, 2026 is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documentation being on file with the official records of the September 16, 2026 meeting of the Community and Economic Development Committee of this Board), the Chairperson of this board is authorized to execute the contract amendment on behalf of Genesee County, and the Chief Financial Officer is directed to record the attached budget amendment.
