BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Board approval and referral by the Medical Health Officer to the appropriate committee of the Board of Commissioners.
BACKGROUND:
This is a yearly request by the Health Department to be proactive in cost savings and time management. The resolution number for FY 22-23 was 2022-935.
DISCUSSION:
The vendors listed are members of the Minnesota Multistate Contracting Alliance for Pharmacy (MMCAP) or Apexus. The Health Department is able to purchase medical supplies through these vendors at a reduced cost creating cost savings.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
There will be no impact on Human Resources.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Listed amounts are within the Health Departments budgeted programs and/or received grant funding. Excel file with program accounts & funds requested is attached. There is a budget amendment in progress.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
Our facilities will hold patient appointments and provide services to the community.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
There will be no impact on technology.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
By providing these services, the Health Department is promoting health & safety with the necessary services through programs including Family Planning, Immunizations, Environmental Health, STD Adult Clinics, WIC, Healthy Start, and various Health Department programs.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Medical Health Officer to authorize an expenditure and Purchase Order to various vendors in the Minnesota Multistate Contracting Alliance for Pharmacy (MCCAP Infuse) including Binx Health, Control Solutions, Fisher Scientific, Forestry Suppliers, Global Protection, Grogan’s Inc., Hemocue, Hologic/Gen Probe, IDEXX, Krasity’s Medical, Maxpert Medical, Mckesson, Medex, Moderna, R&S Northeast/Rondo TopHoldings, Ryan Diagnostics, Sam’s Club, Stanbio Lab, Staples, TSI Industries and Zepto Metrix, in a total amount not to exceed $272,500.00 to purchase medical supplies for health department programs and clinics, said expenditures for FY 23-24 to be paid from the following accounts: 2210-601.01-764.000, 2210-602.02-764.000, 2211-602.03-764.000, 2210-604.00-764.000, 2210-605.05-764.000, 2210-606.03-764.000, 2210-606.04-764.000, 2210-608.02-764.000, 2210-611.01-764.000, 2210-618.03-764.000, 2210-619.00-764.000, 2210-623.00-764.000, 2210-625.00-764.000 and 2210-626.01-764.000 with no County appropriation required, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request being on file with the official records of the January 17, 2024 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board).
