BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The approval to accept the contract agreement for Enforcement Services between the County of Genesee, The Office of Genesee County Sheriff, the Township of Atlas, and the Goodrich School Board.
BACKGROUND:
This agreement ensures that the Sheriff’s Office will provide police protection and enforce local township ordinances within the Township of Atlas, including the Village of Goodrich and Goodrich Area School District.
DISCUSSION:
This contract would be effective October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025, in the amount of $868,723.26 per year to be accounted for in Fund/Department #2853-315.00 of $719,104.98 and Fund/Department #2855-308.07 of $149,618.28.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Office of Genesee County Sheriff to authorize entering into an Agreement for Enforcement Services between Genesee County, the Township of Atlas, and the Goodrich School Board, whereby the Sheriff’s Office will provide both (1) police protection services for the Township at a cost to the Township of $719,104.98, and (2) police protection and related law enforcement services for the Goodrich School District at a total cost of $149,618.28, with $44,885.48 to be paid by the Township and $104,732.80 to be paid by the School District, for the term commencing October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the November 13, 2024 meeting of the Governmental Operations Committee of this Board), and both the Sheriff and the Chairperson of this Board are authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of Genesee County.
