RE: Purchase order to Great Lakes Imaging

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Medical Examiner’s Office is requesting approval to authorize a purchase order to Great Lakes Imaging in the amount of $23,700.00 for the replacement of our X-Ray Machine. This cost will be paid from 1010-648.00-958.014 (equipment) and will require a budget amendment to transfer funds from savings from salaries for vacancies in the first quarter of the fiscal year. The budget amendment is attached.
BACKGROUND:
Our current X-Ray machine needs repair and the parts needed to fix the machine are no longer available due to the model of the unit being at the end of its life span.

The replacement of this piece of equipment will continue to allow the Medical Examiner’s Office to investigate deaths that may be suspicious or criminal in nature. By conducting thorough investigations, providing accurate cause of death determinations, and collaborating with law enforcement agencies, the office helps maintain public safety. A safe community is attractive to residents, businesses, and investors, contributing to community growth and development.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Medical Examiner to authorize a purchase order to Great Lakes Imaging for the purchase of an X-Ray Machine in an amount not to exceed $23,700.00 to be paid from account 1010-648.00-958.014 (equipment), is approved (a copy of the memorandum request dated January 19, 2024, being on file with official records of the February 7, 2024 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board), and the Chief Financial Officer is directed to record the attached budget amendment.
