BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Acceptance of a Professional Services contract between Genesee County and Mt. Morris Consolidated Schools to provide Certified Police Deputies as SROs for the term of August 18, 2026, through June 11, 2027, in the amount of $272,485.00 to be paid by Mt. Morris Consolidated Schools.
BACKGROUND:
Mt. Morris Consolidated Schools has contracted with the Sheriff’s Office since 2021. The original contract included one certified police deputy to act as a school resource officer throughout the district. Since 2025 this contract has increased to provide two certified police deputies to provide additional security and training.

There is no impact to the general fund budget. The cost of this contract is paid by Mt. Morris Consolidated Schools in the amount of $272,485 into account 2855-308.09-674.029

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of Commissioners of Genesee County Michigan, that the request of the Sheriff to authorize entering into the professional services contract between Genesee County and Mt. Morris Consolidated Schools, whereby the Sheriff’s Office will provide two certified police deputies for the term of August 18, 2026 through June 11, 2027, at the cost of $272,485.00 to account 2855-308.09-674.029, as set forth in the memorandum request and attached contract (a copy of which being on file with the official records of the meeting of the July 15, 2026, meeting of the Government Operations Committee of this Board) is hereby approved, and the Chairperson of this Board is authorized to execute the attached contract on behalf of Genesee County.
