BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of a purchase order to Suski Chevrolet in an amount not to exceed $43,200.00 for FYE 2027
BACKGROUND:
Previously the Sheriff’s department solicited multiple dealers to find agreement on a short-term lease deal that would allow for the rotation of vehicles through their operations. Suski was the only dealership willing to try this. This rotation will limit the number of times that the under-cover operations are compromised while in the field.
DISCUSSION:
This will allow for 8 vehicles to be leased up to 10,000 miles or 6 months each at the rate of $450 per month per vehicle for the year. The county will be required to perform regular maintenance while we are in custody of the vehicle including at least one oil change and tire rotation every 6 month or 10,000-mile lease. The vehicles will be used Chevrolet’s.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Director of Facilities and Operations to authorize an expenditure, in the form of purchase orders to Suski Chevrolet, in an amount not to exceed $43,200.00 to be paid from account 6610-234.00-983.002 for FYE 2027, for the purpose of leasing vehicles for the Sheriff’s undercover operations, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request being on file with the official records of the September 16, 2026 meeting of the Public Works Committee of this Board).
