BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The approval of the contract for services with Facility Service Janitorial DBA Facilities360, accepting their bid response to RFP 26-509.
BACKGROUND:
The vendor was chosen by an evaluation team from various county departments such as the Courts, Health Department, along with Facilities and Operations staff. The evaluation team reviewed each company’s proposal and scored them. All scores were compiled and Facilities360 was the clear choice receiving the best score.
DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this contract is to provide cleaning services to our facilities. This will provide a clean environment for our customers and our employees. This will help ensure that proper cleaning is happening at all our facilities from office spaces, restrooms, breakrooms, courtrooms, clinical spaces, and common building spaces. By having this janitorial service contact in place, it will help provide a clean and safe work environment for everyone who works or visits our facilities. A square foot carpet cleaning cost was requested along with the lump sum proposal cost. Carpet cleaning is as requested by Facilities and Operations. I would request authorization to spend up to $100,000.00 at the various facilities to cover carpet cleaning and emergency response cleanings that are not included under the lump sum annual cost and to work with Fiscal Services to provide any necessary appropriations to cover such expenses in excess of what was initially budgeted for from the previous janitorial services contract.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Director of Facilities and Operations to authorize entering into an agreement between Genesee County and Facility Service Janitorial DBA Facilities360, whereby the contractor will provide janitorial services at various county-owned buildings, for the period commencing October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027, at a total cost not to exceed $819,000.00 to be paid from accounts 1010-265.00-802.000, 1010-267.00-802.000, 1010-309.00-802.000, 2130-430.00-802.000, 2920-356.00-802.000, 2827-699.54-801.004, and 2132-801.00-802.000, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request, contract, and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the September 16, 2026 meeting of the Public Works Committee of this Board), and the Chairperson of this Board is authorized to execute the contract and behalf of Genesee County.
