BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of the request to increase Sentinel vendor limit to $75,000
BACKGROUND:
The Genesee County Purchasing Policy requires additional permission to exceed the standard $30,000 threshold for vendors.
DISCUSSION:
The request is to extend Sentinel’s vendor limit to $75,000. The additional funding will support change orders associated with Resolution 2024-302, including hardware and installation for the County-Wide Access Control and Video Monitoring initiative. As work progresses, some site-specific needs and scope updates have been identified, including items missed during the original review and required additions to ensure consistent security coverage and functionality across County buildings.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
There is no impact on Human Resources.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Vendor increase to $75,000 to assist with covering multiple smaller change order requests throughout the year. Approval of change orders would be subject to departments having the available budget.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
There is no impact on Facilities.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Chief Information Officer to authorize additional expenditures for change orders and requests that are required for site-specific needs and scope updates that are identified for the County-Wide Access Control and Monitoring initiative that was approved under Resolution 2024-302, through Sentinel, in a total amount not to exceed $75,000.00, subject to departments having the available budget, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the January 21, 2026 meeting of the Public Works Committee of this Board).
