BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of a Purchase Order to FIDLAR Technologies in the amount of $3,600 for Online Deed Search tool.

BACKGROUND:
FIDLAR Technologies is the Record Management Vendor contracted for the County Clerk and Register of Deeds Office. FIDLAR houses all of our online records including property records.

DISCUSSION:
This additional software feature would allow residents to conduct basic searches for property information for free. Currently these searches cost either a one-time fee of $8.75 per search query or a subscription-based service. This software would allow for free searches of very basic information to ensure the correct document is being viewed before paying for the record or conducting the paid search.

This is a non-general fund budgeted expense of $3,600 to be paid from account 2560-711.00-760.000

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:

BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Clerk/Register to authorize an expenditure, in the form of a purchase order to Fidlar Technologies, to purchase an online deed search tool, at a cost not to exceed $3,600.00 to be paid from account 2560-711.00-760.000, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the May 6, 2026 meeting of the Governmental Operations Committee of this Board), and the Chairperson of this Board is authorized to execute any necessary documents on behalf of Genesee County.
