BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) requests authorization from this committee to approve the 2023-2024 contract between GCCARD and VAAA, with a recommendation of approval by the full Genesee County Board of Commissioners at their next regularly scheduled meeting.
BACKGROUND:
GCCARD Nutrition Services Program has received from Valley Area Agency on Aging (VAAA) through Aging and Adult Services Agency (AASA) its FY 2023-2024 contract to service the Home Delivered and Congregate Meal Programs for seniors in Genesee County. Contract dates are October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024.
DISCUSSION:
The funding for this year is: $334,122 for Congregate and $1,294,429 for Home Delivered Meals. This funds the VAAA portion of the Senior Nutrition Program at a total of $1,628,551. Funding Expenses VAAA Mobile Meals-2731-697.15-634.009 VAAA Congregate Meals-2731-697.16-634.009

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Interim GCCARD Director of the Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) to authorize approval of the FY 2023-2024 contract between Valley Area Agency on Aging (VAAA) and Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) to provide Home Delivered Meals and Congregate meals to the seniors of Genesee County for the term commencing October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024 with funding through the following accounts: VAAA-Congregate-2731-697.16-634.009 ($334,122) and VAAA-HDM (Mobile Meals)-2731-697.15-634.009 ($1,294,429) for a total of $1,628,551 is approved (a copy of the memorandum request with supporting documents being on file with the official records of October 11, 2023 meeting of the Human Services Committee).
