BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Prosecutor’s Office requests approval to obtain a purchase order with a total amount of $5,000 to be used throughout the fiscal year to be able to pay any invoices to the Regents of the University of Michigan vendor #02319.
BACKGROUND:
Prosecutor’s office received information from Purchasing that the vendor is over a total aggregated amount of $30,000 already for the fiscal year and that BOC approval is required to continue to pay our office invoices as they come in throughout the year. This is our regular annual subscription for online access to Michigan Courtroom Evidence Annotated books, MI Model Criminal Jury Instructions , and Introducing Evidence at Trial, and we also receive a hard copy of the Michigan Courtroom Evidence Annotated books.
DISCUSSION:
Purchasing policy changed to require BOC approval for vendors whose aggregated county spending totals more than $30,000.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to authorize an expenditure, in the form of a purchase order to the Regents of the University of Michigan vendor #02319, in a total amount not to exceed $5,000.00 for fiscal year 2025-2026, to purchase legal materials from the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documentation being on file with the official records of the January 21, 2026 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board).
