BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) requests authorization from this committee to approve the Summer Food Program Budget of $20,000, with a recommendation of approval by the full Genesee County Board of Commissioners at their next regularly scheduled meeting.
BACKGROUND:
The Summer Food Program Revenue and Expense account budget needs to be amended to allow for anticipated food costs and administrative expenses to run the Summer Food Program that is part of the Meet Up Eat Up Summer Lunch Program. The Summer Food Service Program (Meet Up & Eat Up), administered by the Department of Education, allows agencies to provide free nutritious meals to various programs for children across the Genesee County. Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks are being furnished.
DISCUSSION:
This request is to amend the budget for the FY 23-24 Summer Food Program within fund and department 2734-697.20. This is the only program currently operating in fund 2734. The budget of $20,000.00 is based on student enrollment at four sites in the area.

There will be no impact on Human Resources with this request.

$20,000 will be budgeted to fund and department #2734-697.20. Budget detail attached.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Director of the Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) to authorize amending the Summer Food Program budget that is detailed in the memorandum request and necessary for anticipated food costs and administrative expenses, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of August 14, 2024 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board), and the Chief Financial Officer is directed to record the attached budget amendment.
