BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval to purchase 10 APX900 radios from Motorola. The radios are the standard-issue portable radios utilized by the Sheriff’s Office. In addition to the purchase of radios, there are templating fees at the cost of $250 per radio and programming fees at the cost of $60 per radio, based on state fee. The total cost of this purchase is $32,918.90, $30,735.37 will be covered by the GIVE grant account #2642-351.01-752.000 and the remaining 5 year essential service contract will be paid from account 1010-351.00-752.000.
BACKGROUND:
These radios and programming are standard equipment used by the Sheriff’s Office and all law enforcement agencies in Genesee County, pursuant to an agreement with Genesee County 911. Templating and programming have to be completed by an authorized agency.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Office of Genesee County Sheriff to authorize the purchase of 10 APX900 radios from Motorola, at the cost of $32,918.90 including programming, to be paid from accounts 2642-351.01-752.000 and 1010-351.00-752.000, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the August 12, 2026 meeting of the Governmental Operations Committee of this Board).
