BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
67^th District Court respectfully requests approval to accept the Office of Highway Safety Planning (OHSP) grant award through the State Court Administrative Office in the amount of $38,000 for fiscal year 2025 to provide funding for the Genesee County Sobriety Court (GCSC).

BACKGROUND:
Genesee County Sobriety Court is in its 9^th year of operation. GCSC maintains its operations with the assistance of funding through grants.

DISCUSSION:
The funding received from OHSP will assist in sustaining the operations of the Genesee County Sobriety Court.  The OHSP grant does not require matching funds.

IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
None

IMPACT ON BUDGET:
The fund account is 2927-286.02. An amendment is necessary to align the budget with the award amount (attached). The OHSP grant does not require matching County funds.

IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
None

CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
The OHSP grant advances the priority of safe communities by enhancing public safety by providing tools, resources, and support necessary for alcohol-dependent offenders to attain and maintain sobriety.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:

BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the 67^th District Court to authorize accepting the Office of Highway Safety Planning grant award through the State Court Administrative Office in the amount of $38,000.00, for the period commencing October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025, to provide funding for the Genesee County Sobriety Court, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documentation being on file with the official records of the November 13, 2024 meeting of the Governmental Operations Committee of this Board), the Chairperson of this Board is authorized to execute the grant agreement on behalf of Genesee County, and the Chief Financial Officer is directed to record the attached budget amendment.
