RE: GCMCA Annual Contract

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of a three-year contract between Genesee County and the Genesee County Medical Control Authority (GCMCA) in the annual amount of $125,000.00.
BACKGROUND:
Annually, Genesee County contracts with the GCMCA to provide funding for their operations. The previous contract expired on September 30, 2023.
DISCUSSION:
Genesee County has historically provided funding to GCMCA through the emergency medical services millage. To provide a more stable funding outlook, this year we are proposing a three-year contract in addition to the yearly funding allocation, there will be opportunity for GCMCA to submit requests for additional funds for specific projects that they may be contemplating.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
There is no impact on Human Resources.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
This contract is paid through the emergency services millage. There is funding available within the millage fund for this purpose. It will be paid from account 2110-313.00-801.015
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
No impact on facilities for this contract.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
No impact on IT for this contract.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
This request will conform to Genesee County’s priority for a Healthy, Livable, & Safe Community by promoting public health through better access to emergency services.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of Commissioners of Genesee County Michigan, that the request of the Director of Administration to authorize entering into the GCMCA Annual Agreement between Genesee County and the Genesee County Medical Control Authority outlining the terms of the arrangement between the county and the authority with relation to the millage funds allocated to the authority for the term from October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2026, funding to be provided from the emergency services millage, account 2110-313.00-801.015, as set forth in the memorandum request and attached agreement (a copy of which being on file with the official records of the January 17, 2024 meeting of the Human Services Committee of this Board) is hereby approved, and the Chairperson of this Board is authorized to execute the attached agreement on behalf of Genesee County.
