BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Genesee County Parks and Recreation staff requests the approval for one (1) Parks staff to attend the Keep America Beautiful 2024 National Conference, February 12-14, 2024, in San Diego, California.
BACKGROUND:
Attendance and participation in the event keeps Keep Genesee County Beautiful a member in good standing, which increases grant opportunities and resources. The conference provides networking opportunities, training workshops, and educational sessions.

Conference Dates: February 12-14, 2024
Location: San Diego, California - Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa
Staff: Emily Stetson, Keep Genesee County Beautiful Program Specialist
Cost: Conference - $675.00; Hotel - $717.00; Travel - up to $1,108.00 (air/rental)
Total: Not to exceed $2500.00.
NO USE OF GENERAL FUND.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Parks and Recreation Director to authorize overnight travel and attendance by the Keep Genesee County Beautiful Program Specialist, Emily Stetson, to attend the Keep America Beautiful 2024 National Conference in San Diego, California, for the period commencing February 12, 2024, through February 14, 2024, at a total cost not to exceed $2,500.00, to be paid from account 2085-788.00-910.004, with no additional County appropriation required, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request being on file with the official records of the January 17, 2024 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board).
