BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of the appointment of Scott Bennett to serve on the Mass Transportation Authority.
BACKGROUND:
Genesee County appoints members to the MTA. One of those positions is reserved for a member of the Michigan Townships Association- Genesee County Chapter. The Association has forwarded the name of Scott Bennett - Grand Blanc Township Supervisor - to serve as their representative on the MTA. The term for this position will expire on March 31, 2025.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
WHEREAS, the Genesee County Board of County Commissioners (“this Board”) is authorized to appoint representatives to the Mass Transportation Authority (“MTA”) Board of Directors when an appointment term ends or a vacancy occurs; and
WHEREAS, one position on the MTA is reserved for a member of the Michigan Townships Association - Genesee County Chapter (the “Association”); and
WHEREAS, the Association has submitted the name of Scott Bennett, Grand Blanc Township Supervisor, to serve as their representative on the MTA for a term expiring on March 31, 2025.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board hereby appoints Scott Bennett, Grand Blanc Township Supervisor, to serve on the MTA for a term expiring on March 31, 2025, having found that Scott Bennett satisfies the requirements set by this Board’s Appointment Policy adopted in Resolution 23-273, the MTA bylaws, and any relevant statutory authority.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the appointee is subject to removal by this Board pursuant to Resolution 23-273, and any relevant statutory authority.
