BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) requests authorization from this committee to approve a purchase orders for Home Depot and Menards for FY 2023-2024, with a recommendation of approval by the full Genesee County Board of Commissioners at their next regularly scheduled meeting.
BACKGROUND:
Home Depot and Menards will provide readily available building materials for GCCARD’s Weatherization program to help low-income residents of Genesee County improve the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. The Purchasing Department did go out to the two vendors to verify pricing for regularly purchased items.
DISCUSSION:
Items such as cellulose insulation, smoke detectors, CO detectors, lumber, drywall, safety equipment, etc., are purchased to ensure that each home can be weatherized in a timely manner.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Interim Director of the Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) to authorize an expenditure, in the form of a Purchase Order, in an amount not to exceed $200,000.00, to Home Depot for building materials to support the Weatherization program, to be paid from account numbers 2746-695.41-752.000, 2746-695.42-752.000, 2742-659.41-752.000, 2742-659.42-752.000, 2744-659.41-752.000, 2744-659.42-752.000, 2743-659.41-752.000, 2743-659.42-752.000, 2827-699.51-801.004, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request with supporting documents being on file with the official records of the November 8, 2023 meeting of the Human Services Committee of this Board).
