recommendation
BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:

Also included is rodent and insect control, food sanitation and safety, communicable disease (epidemiology), swimming pools and bathing beach sanitation and recreation areas, day care centers and nursery schools. The program plans for area needs and communicates findings to Administration along with compiling and interpreting statistics on environmental health needs of the community. Combining all EH programs under one software will provide for faster, accessible data.
DISCUSSION:
Fetch Environmental Health (FetchEH) is location aware, data driven, environmental health software. Supporting environmental health workflows for onsite wastewater system, well permitting, food facilities, pools, campgrounds, and body art programs. FetchEH empowers Health Departments to use that data and location to work better, improve access to information, gain new insights and improve public health outcomes. EH currently pays $4,000 a year for FetchEH (on-site, water, well programs); $7,000 a year for HealthSpace (food, body art programs) Combining EH programs to FetchEH and eliminating HealthSpace, will cost $7,500 a year total; compared to $11,000 a year currently. Singing with FetchEH for three years will save $10,500. There will be a one-time $9,000 fee for migrating data from HealthSpace to FetchEH.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
There will be no impact on Human Resources.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
This change will decrease yearly software fees; this contract is budgeted from account 2210.602.07-801.000 - Public Health Infrastructure.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
There will be no impact on facilities.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
Combining EH programs to one software company will allow the County to eliminate the continuous, failing access database.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
The purpose of the Environmental Health Division is to promote a safe environment for the county and to improve public health outcomes. This will allow us to communicate available resources and services to our residents more easily, via data-based decision making and planning, provided by the combined program software.
