BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Genesee County Parks and Recreation staff requests the approval of a 3rd amendment to the contract with Securitas Security Services USA Inc. increasing the total contract amount from $135,000.00 to $157,000.00, term ending January 5, 2024.
BACKGROUND:
Genesee County executed a final contract extension, RES-2022-1004, pursuant to which Securitas would continue providing on-site, unarmed security services at Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad, effective January 6, 2023 to January 5, 2024, with a total contract amount not to exceed $135,000.00.
DISCUSSION:
Additional services were required during the Halloween and Christmas programs at Crossroads Village causing expenses to exceed the approved contract amount.
The additional $22,000.00 in services provided additional safety and security at Crossroads Village for visitors and staff.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Parks and Recreation Director to authorize amending the Professional Services Contract between Genesee County and Securitas Security Services USA, Inc., said amendment being necessary to increase the total contract amount by $22,000.00 for the term ending January 5, 2024, for a total contract amount not to exceed $157,000.00 to be paid from account 2080-764.00-801.028, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the February 7, 2024 meeting of the Public Works Committee of this Board), and the Chairperson of this Board is authorized to execute the amendment on behalf of Genesee County.
