BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) requests authorization from this committee to amend the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Water Assistance Consolidated Appropriations Funding (WACAA) Administration budget to ensure revenue does not exceed expenses based on the allotted award with a recommendation of approval by the full Genesee County Board of Commissioners at their next regularly scheduled meeting.
BACKGROUND:
GCCARD has received notification from MDHHS of an award decrease for the WACAA Administration. The original awarded amount of $249,016.00 has been decreased to $63,864.00. These funds will continue to be used for the purpose of administering water utility payment assistance to multiple municipalities throughout Genesee County. Funds under this award shall remain available for the original agreement period of October 01, 2022, through September 30, 2023.
DISCUSSION:
This decrease is reflective of the amount of funds used/needed from the WACAA program to cover administrative costs for the WACAA-Administration Part-2 agreement period of October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Executive Director of the Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (“GCCARD”) to authorize the budget amendment for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (“MDHHS”) Water Assistance Consolidated Appropriations Funding (“WACAA”) Administration to ensure revenue does not exceed expenses for the allotted award from MDHHS for the agreement period of October 01, 2022, through September 30, 2023, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request, agreement, and budget amendment being on file with official records of the September 06, 2023 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board) and the Chief Financial Officer is authorized to record the attached budget amendment.
