BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) requests authorization to enter into a food service contract between Grand Blanc School District and Genesee County in the amount of $60,266.25 from September 1, 2023 through August 30, 2024 from this committee and recommendation of acceptance by the full Genesee County Board of Commissioners at their next regularly scheduled meeting.
BACKGROUND:
The cost of the contract is based on the actual number of breakfasts, lunches, snacks and adult meals ordered per day, times the Child and Adult Care Food Program reimbursement (lunch $4.545 per meal, breakfast $2.28 per meal and snack $1.17 per meal) totaling $60,266.25. The Grand Blanc School District food contract is to provide these meals to the Head Start and Early Head Start programs operated in their own school building.
DISCUSSION:
GCCARD requests authorization to enter into a food service contract in the amount of $60,266.25 as referenced above. Adequate funding is available as follows: 2801.698.05.801.000 (FY23 $4,045.47, FY24-$38,431.97), 2801.698.05.801.002 (FY23-$574.94, FY24-$5,461.90), 2727.698.03.801.000 (FY23-$351.78, FY24-$3,869.58), 2727.698.03.801.002 (FY23-$50.00, FY24-$550.00), 2802.698.05.801.000 (FY24-$6,068.20), 2802.698.05.801.002 (FY24-$862.41).

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Executive Director of the Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (“GCCARD”), to authorize entering into the Food Service Contract between Genesee County and Grand Blanc School District, whereby the school will provide breakfast, lunch and snacks to the Head Start and Early Head Start programs operating within the school, to be charged per meal for an amount not to exceed $60,266.25 for the period commencing September 1, 2023 through August 30, 2024, coming from accounts: 2801-698.05-801.000 (FY23 $4,045.47, FY24-$38,431.97), 2801-698.05-801.002 (FY23-$574.94, FY24-$5,461.90), 2727-698.03-801.000 (FY23-$351.78, FY24-$3,869.58), 2727-698.03-801.002 (FY23-$50.00, FY24-$550.00), 2802-698.05-801.000 (FY24-$6,068.20), 2802-698.05-801.002 (FY24-$862.41), is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and contract being on file with the official records of the September 6, 2023, meeting of the Human Services Committee of this Board), and the Chairperson of this board is authorized to execute the contract on behalf of Genesee County.
