BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Genesee County Parks and Recreation staff requests the approval to accept a grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, in the amount of $82,362.00, for staff to continue providing support services for the Flint River Watershed Coalition Leadership Transition project.
BACKGROUND:
Genesee County Parks and Recreation Commission always seeks to support community agencies and organizations who share similar missions and values to enhance community relationships, contribute to the economic growth of the community, and increase resources and services to residents and visitors. Genesee County Parks and Recreation Commission supports the Flint River Watershed Coalition in their time of transition.
Parks has provided leadership services to the Flint River Watershed Coalition since October 2023. The C.S. Mott Foundation has awarded a grant for Parks to continue providing support services during the Flint River Watershed Coalition Leadership Transition project.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Parks and Recreation Director to authorize accepting a grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, in the amount of $82,362.00 to be deposited into account 2087-754.01-674.029, to continue providing support services to the Flint River Watershed Coalition Leadership Transition project, for the period commencing June 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024, with no match requirement, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the May 1, 2024 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board), and the Chief Financial Officer is directed, as necessary, to amend the budget lines associated with this project.
